An adjustable pendant lamp made of mouth-blown glass
The Fritz Hansen Clam is an adjustable pendant lamp made of mouth-blown glass. In analogy to a shell, it more or less reveals its “pearl” of light hidden inside by opening the two half shells. The diffuse light creates a beautiful atmosphere. The Clam™ pendant lamp designed by Ahm and Lund made its first appearance in the national television competition Denmark’s Next Classic. In the context of the show, which offers a stage to the design talents of tomorrow, it was able to secure first place. Now produced by Fritz Hansen, the elegant lamp impresses with both its remarkable shape and its ability to create an atmospheric ambience. Its gently curved, shell-inspired form is created in a meticulous manufacturing process from mouth-blown opal glass and brushed brass. Clam™ is a contemporary interpretation of graceful lighting. The lamp’s remarkable form creates a homely ambience and enhances spaces with its refined silhouette and exceptional craftsmanship. The perfectly balanced, hand-blown opal glass pendant lamp is available in two sizes. The lamp is equally beautiful to look at when open or closed. It features brushed brass fittings that effortlessly slide the shade halves apart to reveal the luminescent light source inside.
