The lighting of the Foscarini Spokes in a video installation
On the occasion of Milan Design Week 2024, a video installation by Francesco Meneghini presents the new Foscarini SPOKES AMBIENT version of the luminaire designed by Garcia/Cumini.
An impressive tunnel that captures the gaze, a choreography of video, music and light that emphasises the innovative feature of Spokes Ambient compared to the original project: personal control of the lighting effect. Thanks to Spokes Ambient’s two independent and dimmable LED sources, it is now possible to modulate the lighting according to your own needs and preferences: The upward-facing source illuminates the surroundings with reflected light, while the downward-facing source illuminates the work surface. Light volumes that capture the light and project a kaleidoscope of light and shadow.
“We gaze upon a stream of landscapes that challenge the ordinary, a succession of desert scenarios rhythmised by the slow wave of rising horizons that almost seem to breathe. At the intersection of these interpenetrating images, the visitor travels and hears the pulse of an unexplored cosmos. It is a light that transforms, that narrates, that invites you to lose yourself in a silent expansion. With this installation, Foscarini not only illuminates, but also plays a ‘visual melody for the eyes’.
