Bamboo Forest lights in front of full-height windows overlooking Lake Maggiore at dusk

Brokis lights in four homes from the Storyline project

Tags: brokis

Four homes in France and northern Italy show how Brokis lights relate to their surroundings. The images from the Storyline project take us from a villa on Lake Maggiore through Evian and Milan to the terrace of Villa Peduzzi above Lake Como.

Villa on Lake Maggiore: Bamboo Forest

In Stresa, on the shores of Lake Maggiore, the setting is part of the design concept. Clean lines and neutral cream tones define the villa’s minimalist interior. The Bamboo Forest collection reinforces this restrained character, becoming part of the relationship between the interior and its surroundings.

Villa in Evian: Macaron

In the villa in Evian, France, Macaron draws attention to the other design objects around it. The light is itself a sculptural presence, while its glow brings the surrounding interior into focus. Light travels upwards through a translucent onyx plate, casting a warm glow onto the wooden panelling and reinforcing the room’s intimate atmosphere.

Our separate portrait of the Muffins collection by Brokis introduces another of the brand’s collections.

Apartment in Milan: Big One

In the Milan apartment, Big One meets an interior with a historic character. Its scale and apparently floating light source immediately draw the eye. The modern light creates a balanced contrast with the character of the apartment.

Another collection is explored in our article on the Brokis Comet pendant light.

Villa Peduzzi above Lake Como: Night Birds

On the terrace of Villa Peduzzi above Lake Como, the landscape becomes the backdrop to the lighting installation. The Night Birds lights suggest birds moving across the lake towards the distant mountain peaks. Their silhouettes connect the terrace with the panorama, making the house and its surroundings appear as parts of a single scene.

Storyline: the book behind the images

The photographs of these four locations were created for Storyline, a large-format Brokis publication featuring more than 120 lights from the brand’s collections. Photographer Max Zambelli and stylist Simona Sbordone worked together to present the homes. Their images place the lights in the context of the rooms, their materials and the surrounding landscape.
