The Vistosi Riketta pendant lamp by Oriano Favaretto combines an open metal cage with a white glass diffuser. In the lower part of the lamp, the glass contains the LED light source, while the matt white frame defines its clear silhouette.
Riketta: reduced to the essentials
Riketta brings together just a few elements: metal outlines the outer form, while white glass houses the light source. Vistosi describes the design as modern and pared back to the essentials. The open structure of the cage leaves the diffuser visible as a distinct part of the lamp.
For another design with a clear formal language, our article on the geometric forms of Vistosi Medea offers a further perspective on the manufacturer's collections.
The glass diffuser inside the metal cage
The white glass diffuser sits in the lower section of the metal cage and contains the LED light source. This arrangement defines the lamp's appearance: the cage remains open above the enclosed glass body. The matt white finish of the frame and the white glass bring the two materials together through colour.
Our article on the Vistosi Scintilla collection offers another look at glass and LED light.
Two sizes, one design language
The pendant lamp is available in two sizes. Both follow the same design with a white glass diffuser and matt white metal frame. The available versions of Vistosi Riketta can be found at Wawawu.
The photographs show Riketta in furnished interiors. For further residential examples, see our article on Oto, Peggy and Puppet in Spanish private residences.
Oriano Favaretto and Vistosi
The design is by Oriano Favaretto. The Riketta image sequence moves from the initial sketch through work in the glass factory to the finished lamp and its installation. It traces the journey from a drawn shape to an object.
Favaretto also designed Medea for Vistosi. Our article on Medea and its designer Oriano Favaretto explores his work and background. To discover more of the glassworks' world, continue with our introduction to the virtual museum of Vistosi.
