The Ingo Maurer Edison lamp series is completely handcrafted in an elaborate process. Thus, each of these lamps is unique and bears an individual signature in the final result. In 2000, Ingo Maurer began to create some variations with holographic light bulbs based on the classic together with Eckard Knuth. With the help of a laser and a special emulsion layer, the Dead Bulb Alive appears in a red glow.
